Vice-president met with peace activists residing in the US

Dr. Khazali , vice-president for women and family affairs  during her  visit to NY to take part at the 66th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women she also met with a group of women peace activists.

During the meeting she said: “We should spread peace worldwide and should also unite religions for the sake of promoting peace. With the help of all those women who advocate peace we should prevent the outcomes of war and sanctions. There are three areas where there is need to unite for: one is protecting the environment, the other fighting corruption and the third is to establish peace and prevent the outcomes of war and sanctions. Sanctions leave negative impacts on the status of women and children. Those who impose sanctions have power and ignore the voices of those governments who are against sanctions. But surely the voices of the people who you represent are better heard. I ask you to display the negative impacts of sanctions by using placards and in any way, you know across the UNHQ. Reveal   those countries that own nuclear weapons and use them to prevent the peaceful use of it which is not fair. Votes are bought against Iran which shows human rights issues are a pretext in the hands of politics.

The women peace activists referred to some of their activities for preventing vulnerability of women in war and sanctions and presented some of their work to the vice -president.
