Vice-president meets Nepal minister for women, children and senior citizens

At the sideline of the 66th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in NY Dr. Ensieh Khazali, vice-president met with Oma Regmi minister for women, children and senior citizens.

During the meeting Dr. Khazali referred to the budget increase allocated to the deprived regions and empowerment of women in the economic and scientific areas, and programs that were initiated for women’s endurance in times of natural disaster and also the Islamic Republic of Iran’s achievement in producing domestic vaccines and admission of foreign students at universities across the country.

The minister for women, children and senior citizens of Nepal also recalled the policies of its government in increasing women’s share in the management of the country and allocating 41% of the parliament seats to women. She also mentioned of her country’s efforts to fight administrative corruption and described some of the programs and actions of the government of Nepal in dealing with women, children and senior citizens. At the end both sides while expressing their invitation to visit their countries also showed their willingness in expanding relations in the areas of women.
