According to the report of the media press of the vice-presidency for women and family affairs, Dr. Ensieh Khazali met with Ms. Kandit, Mashgo Delamini deputy foreign minister of South Africa in June 2022.

 In the meeting Dr. Khazali referred to the Iranian women empowerment and their great capacities for use in the international interactions of both countries in various scientific, technology, health and sports, media, employment and entrepreneurship. While introducing some of the international plans of the vice-presidency for women and family they also talked about the idea of women and fighting corruption and the programs of the vice-presidency for establishing a specialized working group, preliminary webinars and international conferences on this topic. Moreover, Dr. Khazali reminded on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s appointment as the chair of the IORA women economic empowerment working group as a remarkable opportunity to provide an effective link with the member countries and invited South Africa   to join the recommended programs of Iran as a member of this working group.

Ms. Delamini while expressing her happiness for visiting Iran regarded the progress of the programs of the political committee as appropriate. She also referred to the successful examples of her country in promoting women’s empowerment in two areas of increasing the participation of elite and building capacity and empowering rural women. In terms of rural women which compose over 60% of the women population she requested transfer of knowledge and experience of Iranian women to South Africa in the areas of handicrafts and providing grounds for the exportation of the products.

Both sides examined the various areas of collaboration in women and family areas and stressed on the development of the bilateral ties.
