Vice president meeting with Iran-Syria Parliament friendship group
Vice president for women and family affairs met with the vice-chairman of the Iran-Syria parliament friendship group
Organized by the international office of the vice-presidency Dr. Fatemeh Mohammd Beigi member of Islamic consultative assembly while paying tribute to former president Hafiz Assad elaborated on the activities of the assembly with regards to the friendship group between the two countries.
Referring to the law adopted on supporting family and the population as a solution for overcoming the aging generation in the country she thanked the efforts of the vice- presidency for introducing the law and expressed readiness to share the experiences of our country with the government of Syria. Dr. Ensieh Khazali while introducing the vice-presidency for women and family affairs elaborated on the plans and measures undertaken by this institution as the main institution dealing with women and family affairs and referred to the family oriented policies of the 13th government which emphasizes on the empowerment of women in particular, entrepreneurship and employment and supporting women’s presence in scientific and research activities and the achievements of the country in women and family areas.
It is noteworthy to mention that the vice-president while referring to the past bilateral interactions she also stressed on the expansion of bilateral collaboration considering the cultural commonalities.
Ms. Hayfa Jummah, vice-chairman of the parliament friendship group of Iran and Syria who visited Iran at the head of high- ranking delegation hosted by the Islamic Consultative Assembly while thanking the warm hospitality stated that the ten -year war in her country made the Syrian women even stronger. She believed that education and literacy are the strongest weapons for empowering women and the support of the government and the parliament of Syria are highly imperative. Ms. Jummah added: “We offer our warm hands to the Islamic Republic of Iran for collaboration in the areas of women and family affairs.
