Holding the first conference on women’s empowerment and climate change; challenges, plans and solutions

In a joint collaboration between the international office of the vice-presidency for women and family affairs and department of environment and AlZahra university, “The first conference on women’s empowerment and climate change: challenges, plans and solutions” was held.

 The conference which was participated by a group of experts and authorities working in the area of women and environment Dr. Karimi, director general of international affairs of the vice-presidency for women and family affairs and the secretary of the conference elaborated on the process of holding the conference.

Reminding the important issue of  bringing science and action closer together in the country  she said: “This conference is part of a broad action in the country which was initiated since last years following the agenda of the  66th meeting of the commission on the status of women and  was brought into implementation through signing of a joint agreement between the vice-presidency for women and family affairs and department of environment as the main institution for protecting climate and environment .

She added: “Following the formation of a joint committee on women and environment we hope to see great events taking place in this area.”

 Dr. Mohammadi, president of environment organization of Hamedan province and former advisor of women’s affairs of the department of environment, Dr. Abbasi, director of women’s research center of AlZahra university, Mr. Azizi, secretary of the national workshop on climate change of the department of environment and Ms. Kamali, advisor to the department of environment for women affairs each delivered their speeches.

Also 5 of the selected individuals presented their papers and shared their achievements and experiences from scientific research with the participants.
