The first international congress on women of influence was held on the morning of Friday, 20th, January at the Summit Convention Center.

Dr. Ensieh Khazali, the vice-president for women and family affairs formally welcomed the first ladies of different countries.

In the first day of the congress meeting which was held on 20th January, over 300 foreign guests including 70 women activists and officials from different areas including minister, vice presidents and parliamentarians visited Iran in order to hear the voice of Iranian women away from the influence of the Western media.

After an official welcome by Dr. Ensieh Khazali, vice president for women and family affairs a group photo was taken with the first ladies of various governments and the high- ranking officials who had taken part at the first congress at the Summit Convention Center followed by meeting of first ladies from Armenia, Serbia, Cameroon, Syria, Guyana, Sri Lanka, Nigeria with the wife of the president of our country in a separate hall.

At this meeting the women from different countries emphasized that the Islamic republic of Iran plays an effective role and has a high potential for the global community.

Among the issues discussed was defending the women’s rights and developing their presence in various political, economic and social areas as well as fighting for the rights of women. 

Of course, the participants while thanking the Islamic Republic of Iran for hosting this event reminded that the women needed to look from a larger spectrum rather than from a small lens for cooperation.

Also, the participants thanked the president of our country for they believed that Dr. Raisi recognizes the great and important role of women in the society.

In addition, there was a meeting held on how to set up an international association on influential women.
