Deputy for women sports development of ministry of sports and youth gave details on the first new year women international games.

 Maryam Kazemipour , referring to the first international games that is held at Tehran Azadi basketball court explained that the games are held in 9 sports fields namely ,Kabaddi, Judo,  horse riding, weight lifting, Karate, futsal, fencing, polo and track and field.

She added: “There are over 378 foreign athletes from 20 countries and 225 Iranian athletes in different age groups who have come to compete with each other and we hope to be good hostesses for the athletes and champions from different countries.”

Stressing that the aim of this event is to provide sustainable development for women sports activities and to benefit from their capacities she said: ‘ Above all the aim is to display the cultural and identity of women athletes and we will do everything to hold this game in the best possible way.”
