Dr. Khazali explained in a meeting with the President of the Senate of Uzbekistan; The Islamic Republic's legislative measures in support of women/Uzbekistan, like Iran, has recognized the form of the natural family

The Vice President for Women and Family Affairs met and talked with the president of the Uzbek Senate, Tenzileh Narbayava, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Women's Forum in Tashkent.

Dr. Ensieh Khazali, the vice president for women and family affairs, expressed her appreciation for Uzbekistan's hosting and the measures taken by this country to support women and improve the status of the family: the cooperation between the two countries would be further expanded at the bilateral and international level and between the executive and legislative institutions.

She added: In order to speed up the approval of laws, a women and family headquarters has been formed in the government.

The vice president for women and family affairs also announced the progress in the process of approving the bill for the promotion of women's security in the parliament and providing advice to young couples and said: allocation of insurance for women until the end of the breastfeeding period, health insurance for children up to five years old, 100% coverage of infertility insurance, increase Maternity leave with pay from 6 months to nine months, reduction of working hours for women with children under six years old, with disabilities and female heads of households, and requiring all organizations and institutions to build kindergartens for employees' children are part of the legislative measures to support women.

Dr. Khazali pointed out: The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that gender equality is not the sole provider of women's interests, and considering women's greater responsibility, including the responsibility of children and the home, more special support should be given to women, hence our emphasis is on establishing gender justice.

Referring to the deviations of the concept of family from Western countries, she expressed her satisfaction that Uzbekistan, like Iran, has recognized the form of the natural family, and said: We hope to create a common calendar for cooperation and operational work between the two countries.

In this meeting, TANILA NARBAEVA, chairwoman of the Senate of Uzbekistan, described the visit of the President of our country to Samarkand last year and the recent visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tehran as the beginning of a new chapter in the relations and cooperation between the two countries and expressed hope for further expansion of international cooperation between the two countries, congratulated the completion of our country's membership in the Shanghai Organization.

She pointed to last year's visit of Dr. Qalibaf, chairman of the Islamic Council to Tashkent and the visit of the chairman of the House of Representatives of Uzbekistan to Tehran in the framework of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and clarified: due to the high level of cooperation, in all the elections of Uzbekistan, a delegation from Iran as The observer is present and it is expected that we would host Iranian representatives in the upcoming elections.

Referring to the meeting of influential women in Tehran, the chairwoman of the Uzbek Senate said: The Uzbek guests closely observed Iran's progress in the field of women and family, and we would like to develop legislation in the field of women's health, including the support of women's employment and their presence in society is to cooperate with Iran.

Referring to the upcoming meeting of the women representatives of the parliaments of Islamic countries, Narbaeva expressed hope that the representatives of Iran will attend the meeting.

She also emphasized the necessity of implementing the memorandum of understanding between the two countries and monitoring it and said: "In recent years, 40 laws have been approved in Uzbekistan to protect women, and all draft laws are being reviewed from the perspective of ensuring women's rights."

This Uzbek official continued: We also want gender justice to be applied to women. Currently, women have 32% of seats in the parliament in Uzbekistan; Women have three years of maternity leave, of which two years are paid, and the government also pays the share of the private sector in order to support women.

Narbaeva noted: Uzbekistan is proud to be a member of the Association of Influential Women; Also, the Club of Women Leaders of five Central Asian Countries has also been established, and we hope that the club will be accepted as a legal member of the Association of Influential Women.
