Director General of International Affairs of the Women's and Family Affairs Vice Presidency in New York
The Necessity of Joining the Movement for Family Commitment and Countering Emerging and Fictitious Models
It is essential that the needs, problems, and issues of the survivors of Gaza families, who have witnessed the hardships of war and felt the excruciating pain of losing their loved ones, be addressed in this session.
The Director General of International Affairs of Women's and Family Affairs Vice Presidency, at the 62nd session of the United Nations Social Commission in New York, elucidated the idea of the "Global Movement for Family Commitment" proposed by our President at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He warned of the dangerous consequences of fictitious and emerging family models for the health and security of individuals, families, and the future of human societies.
She shared the achievements in the women's domain and the actions taken by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen and fortify the family foundation with the global community, inviting all family enthusiasts to join this international movement.
Dr. Karimi strongly condemned Israel's crimes of genocide and the destruction of Palestinian families, stating that: "It's essential to take into serious account the needs, difficulties, and problems of Qaza's surviving family members, who witnessed the sufferings of the war and felt with all their hearts the excruciating pain of losing their loved ones." In response to this statements, the representative of the Zionist regime attempted to deny and insult our country, to which the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran responded, refuting the baseless claims of the Zionist representative: "This regime should reconsider bringing such a history to the public's attention. This is due to the fact that its shameful history of more than seventy-five years can be summed up in a few words: occupation, brutality, massacre, and flagrant violations of human rights and humanitarian law. In the face of international legitimacy, Israel, the last apartheid regime and the only regime in the world that practices open racism and has legalized it, attempts to ride the wave of international legitimacy; a dreadfully regressive regime pretends to be progressive by utilizing advanced technologies provided by certain powers. Such a long, dark catalogue of crimes and atrocities, such as state terrorism and crimes against humanity, poses a uniquely grave threat to regional as well as international peace and security."
These remarks by our country's representative were endorsed and supported by some delegations such as Turkey, Peru, South Africa, and Qatar.
Furthermore, a gathering of member countries of the International Association of Family Friends was held on the sidelines of the Social Commission, where our country's representative elaborated on the nation's stance on the appropriate family model and expressed readiness for any cooperation to promote it.
