Razi Vaccine and Serum Production Research Institute celebrated its 100th anniversary on Sunday, 05 January 2025, in Tehran, with the presence of Mrs. Behrouz Azar, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Minister of Agriculture, the institute's managers, and a group of prominent figures, scientists, and researchers.

Razi Vaccine and Serum Production Research Institute celebrated its 100th anniversary on Sunday, 05 January 2025, in Tehran, with the presence of Mrs. Behrouz Azar, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Minister of Agriculture, the institute's managers, and a group of prominent figures, scientists, and researchers.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs, the Vice President congratulated the Razi Institute on the occasion and described it as one of the country's most important, oldest, and most prestigious research centers. Over the past century, it has played a crucial role in the country's scientific development and the protection of public health. 

 

Highlighting the institute's achievements in producing vaccines and antivenom, she said, "Thanks to your efforts, many diseases, such as polio, were eradicated in the 1960s and 1970s. Now, families no longer have to worry about accessing vaccines and the cost to their children."

 

Expressing her gratitude to the Razi Institute's female researchers and managers, especially Dr. Soheila Moradi Bidhendi, the Deputy of Research and Technology of Razi Institute, she added, "The female scientists at the Razi Institute have set an example for Muslim women in the fields of science and technology through their efforts. The presence of 9 women among the institute’s top managers, who have been promoted based on their academic achievements, demonstrates the commendable professional competence of women compared to men, which has been achieved without active discrimination or affirmative action.

 

She stressed that attracting young elites to the center will be no concern if we inform the families and future generations about the institute's successful model and services.

 

In the end, the Vice President said that the activities of the Razi Institute illustrate social and scientific capability and social commitment. She also expressed hope that the Razi Institute will continue to shine and achieve even greater success in the future.
