Mrs. Zahra Behrouzazar, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, visited Khuzestan Province on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, to explore the issues and challenges of the region. She visited five cities in Khuzestan Province, including Ahvaz, Andika, Lali, Ramhormoz, and Ramshir, to gain insights into the issues affecting women and families.
She also visited infrastructural projects, accommodation facilities, hospitals, medical centers, social facilities, as well as vocational and entrepreneurship centers in these cities.
Government officials who accompanied the President on this visit included the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, the ministers of oil, the ministers of energy, Ministry of Roads & Urban Development, Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare, Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, and medical education, along with the head of the Environmental Protection Organization and the Deputy for Rural Development.
At the end of her visit to the cities of Ahvaz, Andika, Lali, Ramhormoz, and Ramshir, Mrs. Behrouz azar noted that access to clean and safe water, healthcare facilities, and employment opportunities’s development are the main challenges of these cities. She stressed the importance of technical and vocational training for women, describing it as the first step toward creating employment opportunities and stated that this step can be further developed by strengthening local and indigenous activities and guiding young people toward local, indigenous, and tourism-oriented businesses. She also stressed the necessity of accelerating the completion of water, healthcare and treatment infrastructural projects.
This trip, marked by the extensive presence of cabinet members, is unprecedented and underscores the government’s strong commitment to the development, infrastructure improvement, and prosperity of Khuzestan Province.
