Mrs. Zahra Behrouz Azar, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, traveled to Yazd Province for a one-day visit on 29 May 2025.

Mrs. Zahra Behrouz Azar, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, traveled to Yazd Province for a one-day visit on 29 May 2025. After paying tribute to the third "Martyr of the Mihrab," Ayatollah Sadoughi, she took part in a series of cultural, social, and policy-oriented programs aimed at improving the status of women, families, and the youth population. 

 

In a meeting with the Governor of Yazd, she emphasized the need for national and provincial synergy to enhance women's status, leverage local capacities, and sustain the female managers’ appointment. She also commended the Governor of Yazd and the head of the Passive Defense Organization for appointing the country's first female director.

 

In a meeting with elite women from all over the province, Mrs. Behrouz Azar highlighted the significant role of women in higher education and specialized fields in Iran. She called for greater resilience and self-confidence among women to take on more active roles in management, particularly in the knowledge-based ecosystem. She stated that the government aims to increase women's participation in this sector from 12% to 30%. 

 

She also paid a visit to the Technical and Vocational Complex for women, where she observed activities in clothing workshops, handicrafts, and astronomy. During the visit, she honored the winners of the "Touran Sanjari"[1]event. 

Later, Mrs. Behrouz Azar inaugurated the Yazd Province Population Monitoring Room. At a meeting of the Youth Population Headquarters, she warned about the country's declining population trend. She emphasized the need for collaboration among the government, private sector, and civil society to promote sustainable marriage and childbearing. 

 

At the end of her trip, in observance of National Marriage Day and with the participation of manufacturers and activists, a specialized exhibition on dowry and marriage preparations was inaugurated at the Yazd Exhibition Center.

 

A special cultural, artistic, and knowledge-based event titled "Lady Turan" was held in honour of Master Turan Sanjari, celebrated as "The Mother of Art in the Province".
