Iran&#rsquo;s Representative at the UN Human Rights Council: The Rights of Women Violated by the Aggressions of the Zionist Regime Need Global Attention

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office in Geneva delivered speech at the 59th session of the UN Human Rights Council, emphasized the victimization of Iranian women and girls in the recent aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran, and highlighted the need for international protection of the rights of women all around the world.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs, Mr. Ali Bahreini, in an interactive dialogue with the Working Group on Discrimination Against Women, stated: "In every part of the world, the rights of women and girls are equally important, and no exceptions to this principle is acceptable."

He added: "Iranian women and girls, who were targeted for 12 consecutive days by the Zionist regime's blind and indiscriminate attacks, including missile strikes on peaceful nuclear facilities—deserve the immediate attention of the international community."

He further emphasized the destructive impact of the recent war on women's opportunities to exercise their rights in development, participation, and empowerment. He described the silence of European countries on Israel's act of aggression on 13 June against peaceful nuclear facilities and national sovereignty as "sickening."

Addressing the Vice President of the Human Rights Council, Mr. Bahreini asserted: "Vocal supports need to be accompanied by strong actions to stop the Occupier regime from its savageries in the Middle East."
