Zahra Behrouz Azar, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, spoke at the event celebrating Turkey's National Day. She expressed gratitude for the occasion and highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and religious ties shared by the two neighboring nations.

 

She described these connections as being based on mutual respect and expressed hopes for stronger collaboration in economic, cultural, scientific, and social areas. She also stated that the establishment of the 29th Joint Economic Commission in this year is a valuable chance to reach this goal and enhance people-oriented exchanges.

 

In another part of her speech, she stressed the importance of improving transportation and rail transit cooperation as a key priority. The Vice President noted that Iran and Turkey play an essential role in linking the East and West. She pointed out the need to increase railway capacity and finish joint projects for the benefit of both countries as well as the region.

 

Additionally, she suggested deepening cultural and artistic cooperation, through the rich commonalities of both nations to strengthen ties for future generations. She also states that declaring 2025 as the Year of Culture for Iran and Turkey represents a proactive step toward achieving this goal.

 

She also expressed her support for the oppressed people of Palestine, wishing victory and freedom for the Islamic world, especially for Palestinian people. She concluded her speech with a verse from Rumi that reflects the strong bond between the two countries: "We are dependent on each other and alive together; like two seas, though separate, we are connected."
